What is Toughman?


THIS IS REAL! 
There are no pre-determined winners:
every man and woman is fighting for fame and glory
in front of people they know.

The Original Toughman Contest is conducted in 37 states and abroad.
Fighters are broken down into several weight classes.
Each bout consists of 3-one minute rounds with a 1 minute rest period.
Strictly boxing, no biting, no wrestling, no head butting, no kicking.
Fighters undergo pre-fight physicals and a doctor and EMT's are present ringside during the event.
No professional fighters.

No amateurs with more than 5 wins in the last
5 years.

Each fighter must be at least 18 years old.
3 knockdown rule and standing 8 counts are in effect.
Judges use the 10 point must system with points awarded for aggression, power, number of hits, defense, etc.
Fighters wear 16 oz. gloves, head gear , groin protection and mouthpieces.

The Toughman Contest concept was the basis for a Hollywood feature film "Tough Enough" starring Dennis Quaid and Pam Grier. There is also a Sega Genesis game called, and based on, the "Toughman Contest". We have also been featured on several television shows including Donahue, Current Affair, The Tonight Show, and featured in magazines including People, Wall Street Journal, Maxim, Unlimited,
and the newspaper, USA Today.

*** Participants in local events are not automatically advanced to nor are they guaranteed the ability to compete in any other event.  Adoreable Promotions, Inc.'s Selection Committee determines who advances to compete in national and regional events, by relying on its decades of boxing experience and its authority to base such decisions on the use of its knowledgeable discretion.  The Selection Committee can and does determine who competes in the national and regional events through the use of such factors as health, ability, laws of jurisdiction where events will be held and many other discretionary criteria.
